First of all I looked at old style illustrations like these. I think they are very attractive aesthetically and I love the use of repeat pattern and shape. I also think the level of information they convey is impressive. Although I really like them I think they could be difficult to re-create into a type face as the detail would not work on a small, condensed scale. Although these designs are less decorative than the others I think they will be easier to replicate into my typeface. I like the symmetrical look and the equality of the design.
